CAMPUS SERIES PART 1

Although at the back of my mind I am still wishing that I was in New York attending The Fashion Institute of Technology, I have slowly gotten used to the fact that my time to live in New York will come in 4 short years. I have tried to make the best of my time here in Austin, a super fun city that has vibes and influences from the the Big Apple, since I can't really do anything about not being in New York! The good thing is that I will be in NYC all next summer, hopefully interning! In the mean time, I have kept my self occupied with school work, (you can always find me at the beautiful architecture library!) and of course with fashion! I am not in any classes in which I can make clothes yet, but next semester is when it all begins. For now I am just learning about the fibers that make up fabrics and about different characteristics of fabrics, an interesting approach to fashion design.

But of course that's not the only type of fashion that's in my life--one of my best friend Ricardo from thestyleinquisitor [who by the way is in NYC for NEW YORK FASHION WEEK right now; so proud!] meet up after classes or in between classes to check out each other's outfits and of course chat. We are going to make it a weekly tradition to take pictures of at least one of our outfits each week and post them, hence the CAMPUS SERIES. Stay tuned for more awesome pictures, and as the weather cools down we'll be able to have more! I wore a maxi skirt the day of this photo shoot and let's just say we did not take the most pictures that we could have! It was over 100 degrees, but once fall really rolls around, there will be a lot more in each series!

Ricardo is seriously one of those people who you can truly call your best friend, even though I only met him in January while we were both interning for HOUSTON Magazine! We have so much in common and he's the one person who I can always talk about anything fashion related and he will completely understand me. Plus he has wicked style, which is obviously a plus!

Enjoy!
